Red Cat extended its month-long slide on a CEO insider sale while Mobilicom's datalink ADR led on fresh Tier-1 order flow.

Mobilicom's ADR (MOB) led the basket, up 6.0% to $4.76, extending a run that ties directly to the comms-and-datalinks chokepoint. On September 14 the company disclosed a follow-on production order for its Mobile Ground Control Stations from an Asia-based Tier-1 robotics manufacturer — a repeat buyer across its MCU mesh-networking, SkyHopper datalink and ground-station lines. Mobilicom's leverage is structural, not narrative: its SkyHopper PRO family sits on the DIU Blue UAS Framework component list, so NDAA-compliant OEMs must source secure datalinks from an approved shelf, and Mobilicom is on it. The move is the market repricing recurring, spec'd-in order flow rather than a single headline.

The laggard was Red Cat (RCAT), down 10.9% to $7.09 and now off roughly 31% over the past month. No new filing, contract, or analyst action explains Wednesday specifically; the session's slide layered onto a CEO/chairman Form 4 disclosing the sale of 150,000 shares for about $1.57M, and onto an August quarter that missed — revenue of $20.19M against a $22.79M consensus and a wider-than-expected loss. Red Cat sits at the airframes-and-primes chokepoint as a domestic SUAS integrator, and the tape is now discounting execution risk on a name whose valuation had run ahead of its Short Range Reconnaissance ramp. Unusual Machines (UMAC) fell alongside it, −4.4%, on the same speculative-drone de-rating.

Beneath the two extremes the basket's structural rungs diverged. The materials and rare-earth-magnet strait sagged — USA Rare Earth (USAR) −1.9%, NioCorp (NN) −2.0%, MP Materials (MP) −0.4%, Ambarella (AMBA) −2.4% on the autonomy-compute rung — while established defense-electronics primes firmed on capital rotation: Leonardo DRS (DRS) +0.6%, AeroVironment (AVAV) −0.3% roughly flat, Kratos (KTOS) −0.1%, with the RF and photonics micro-caps Lantronix (LTRX) +1.7% and LightPath (LPTH) +1.1% among the session's few clear gainers. The split — speculative pure-plays down, spec'd-in component and prime names steady — is the same rotation that has defined the vertical's month.

The catalyst calendar ahead is dense and policy-heavy. The FAA's Part 108 BVLOS final rule remains the near-term swing factor, still expected in the back half of 2026 after the comment period reopened, and the USAF's CCA Increment 1 competitive production decision is targeted within FY2026 — both direct demand signals for the airframes and autonomy rungs. AUSA 2026 (Oct 12–14, Washington DC) is the next venue for program and contract disclosure. Further out, the rare-earth-magnet chokepoint has two hard dates: China's one-year suspension of its October 2025 rare-earth export controls expires November 10, and the gallium/germanium/antimony ban suspension lapses November 27 — the supply-side clock the materials names trade against.
